My Mission

My mission is to ensure that every student we work with has access to the support they need to succeed. By offering specialist advocacy and mentoring services, I want to help students overcome barriers and focus on what truly matters – their education and future aspirations. We provide a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of students, students' unions, university governance teams, and complaints services.

My Experience

My journey in student advocacy began as an elected Students’ Union officer. During this time, I gained valuable insights into how universities make decisions and the complex relationships between students, their representative bodies, and the institutions themselves.

I then spent over 10 years working in student representation, managing a Students' Union advice service. Throughout this period, I supported thousands of students with complex complaints, academic appeals, disciplinary matters, and accusations of academic misconduct. I also helped students report their dissatisfaction with university processes to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator. My efforts have enabled students to secure financial settlements and, most importantly, receive the educational experiences they deserve.

Why I Started The Higher Education Advocate

I founded The HE Advocate to fill the gap in support for students facing challenges within the higher education system. My experience has shown me that many students lack the guidance and advocacy needed to effectively navigate institutional complexities. I am dedicated to providing expert advice and empowering students to uphold their rights and achieve their academic goals.
